Gurdip Mahal is a leading talent in lighting design. Graduating from Southampton University with a first class honours degree in photography, his work continues to gain recognition with various industry awards and accolades to his name.

Gurdip’s unique approach to work has helped him develop a style of design found in productions of all shapes and sizes across the globe. Credits include the MTV Awards in Europe, Africa and Asia, Intimissimi on Ice in Verona, and for over a decade the Laureus World Sport Awards in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South America. Closer to home his work includes lighting some of the most prestigious events for the BBC, including Sports Personality of the Year. Gurdip has created the original designs for numerous television productions for all the major broadcasters, and has multiple series currently filming in around the world.

He continues to collaborate with some of the greatest names from the world of music including Kylie Minogue, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, U2, Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Muse and Bon Jovi. Although Gurdip has designed shows for some of the world’s biggest artists, venues, and audiences, he is equally happy creating designs for smaller spaces and productions.

When not at work Gurdip continues to enjoy photography and has a love for old classic movies.
